Hobie Mirage Eclipse Pedal Board: FULL REVIEW & TESTING

The Hobie Eclipse is a pedal driven paddle board. It comes in 10ft and 12ft model as well as standard or Dura edition. Dura edition is a more robust hull for commercial and rental fleet markets. It has similar style pedal drive to that of the Mirage drive kayaks like the popular Hobie Outback and Pro Angler. Big difference is the pedal drive posts and fins. The Eclipse has beefy Flow Fin 90s which are a split/butterfly fin design. You operate the Eclipse almost like a stair stepper exercise machine. The drive well on the Eclipse is in fact nearly identical and could accept the Hobie kayak pedal drives however it would be awkward to pedal without configuring a seat and alternative rudder controls. We think it would be awesome if Hobie made this a kayak and paddleboard hybrid with options to use as kayak or paddleboard. Either way, this pedal board Eclipse is sweet and certainly moves across the water with ease. I think we may have to get one. Wife wants one really bad!
I think it would be awesome for fishing! I would probably mount a rail mount rod holder to the handlebars and put cooler on the back!
