The FS7i Freestride trainer is NordicTrack’s mid-line Freestride trainer. The Freestride trainers are an elliptical series that combine the movement of an elliptical and a stair stepper. We really like this product because you can engage more leg and butt muscles for a better workout that is still very low-impact.

We bought our FS7i for $1799. Our link will take you to NordicTrack.com to view current FS7i pricing. The FS7i is our BEST BUY for home ellipticals between $1500 and $2000 and we give it 5 stars! What makes it our top pick is the versatility and engagement you get with this elliptical and it’s subscription service.

The FS7i is built with a full steel frame and supports users up to 375 pounds. This elliptical feels very stable when you’re on it. It has a center drive system with a 20-pound flywheel and 24 resistance levels. Moving the elliptical requires at least two people. It’s very heavy and the floating pedals make it awkward to relocate. But it can be done!

The FS7i has a great warranty. NordicTrack gives you lifetime coverage for the frame, 5 years for parts, and 2 years for labor.

The display has a very responsive 7” HD touchscreen which tilts up and down. The console has quick-select controls for adjusting the resistance and incline. This center drive elliptical has an impressive incline ability of 10%. A lot of ellipticals that offer an incline do so with an incline ramp. This is a feature that can only be adjusted manually by dismounting the elliptical, situating the ramp, and then hopping back on the elliptical for your workout. The FS7i has an incline motor that will raise and lower the FS7i while you’re exercising. The controls for this function are on your elliptical’s console. Your iFit workout video will also automatically adjust your incline and resistance for you to follow along with your trainer.

The FS7i doesn’t have stationary handles. They are moving, only. With your purchase of the elliptical, you also get a Bluetooth heart rate monitoring chest strap that pairs with your console. This is a great HR monitor and its very accurate, reliable, and easy to use.

The console has fans and speakers built-in. You can project your music through the console’s speakers with the aux plug. The console also has an HDMI and USB port for charging devices and projecting your video onto a larger screen. The FS7i has one water bottle holder – no accessory trays.

The FS7i has 35+ onboard workouts. These workouts are videos from the iFit Cardio library that you can access without having an iFit subscription. These workouts are much more user-friendly than what we’re used to seeing on standard home ellipticals. NordicTrack is also giving a 12-month free subscription to iFit when you buy their equipment. After 12 months, you’ll be charged $15 per month to maintain the service. This can be canceled previous to a certain date to avoid auto-renewal. • This looks like a great piece of equipment, but NordicTrack doesn't sell this in any Fitness Store to try it out, and if you do purchase it and you don't like it you can return it, but you have to pay for the shipping of the return and a 10% restoking fee. The price doesn't warrant the risk for the buyer. That is a shame since it looks amazing…
