Rusty Sewing Awl Restoration | Tool Restoration

I decided to restore this vintage sewing awl I found in the attic. Take a look at the video, get inspired and watch how I restored the tool. The blade itself, the metal parts and the bolt joint were all rusty and the wooden handle had few cracks in it. I made a homemade rust remover to get rid of the rust, sanded all the parts and used epoxy resin to seal the handle cracks. Brief process description and used material below.
I like to repair and bring old tools back to life and inspire others to create something. It is nice to repair our old jammed tools and make them useful and usable again. The project was fun. Hopefully I inspired you and could help with your restorations.

Material: lemon, baking soda & vinegar – let the pasta sit for some time
– Used a flap wheel sander (60 grit) and sandpaper (120, 240, 320, 600, 1000) for grinding and polishing
– Used epoxy resin to seal the wood cracks on the handle (note – up to 20 hours until the resin is fully hardened depending on the room temperature)
